Welcome friends and neighbors,
As I’m writing this, we have had a winter full of record high temperatures and very little precipitation, it’s been sort of a nice break from the last three. Now that I have boldly tempted the powers that be, my under handed way of asking for moisture for the spring, I’m sure that we will get that 200 inches of snow during calving season. Yes I agree, not exactly the best scenario, but if it means moisture to start the crops and at least one great hay cutting I’m fine with a little anxiety now. We all ride the roller coaster called weather, whatever it may bring we will deal with and be wiser upon the outcome.
Highlighted in the coming pages are 50 yearling angus bulls and 24 commercial angus heifers. We make an attempt each year to select pedigrees that highlight and improve upon our philosophy: genetically sound animals whose performance is complimented by their calving ease. Calves are raised on mother’s milk and grass, not creep fed. This allows the individuals to express their potential before weaning. Once weaned, and selections made, the animals are fed a growing ration high in roughage which allows them to display their genetic differences. The information provided, including the ultrasound and yearling information on hand sale day, are true representations of what you should expect from the angus breed and our philosophy combined. It is our guarantee that the bulls sold will pass a breeding exam ensuring they are sound breeders for the first breeding season.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our hard work and commitment to you, our customers. If you have any questions, please contact either Dave or Jeremy at the numbers listed below. We also invite you to make your selections early by viewing the animals at the ranch until Monday February 20 after which they will be available at Lemmon Livestock until sale time. Information will be posted on our website, www.cedarfloangus.com, as it becomes available.
Although we would prefer to see you at the sale, we understand that problems do arise unexpectedly. If you are not able to attend you can watch and even bid on animals in the sale by visiting www.lemmonlivestock.com and following the instructions for CattleUSA.com, their online bidding service.
Wishing you the best in the coming year,
